Safety Awards
Gundlach Sheet Metal is very proud of the quality of work
performed by our co-workers. One good indication of quality is our
performance record related to safety. The following represent a few of the
safety awards we have received.

2002, 2003, 20004 & 2005 recipient
of the Safety Masters Club Award. This is the ACCA (Air Conditioning
Contractor's Association)
premier safety award program for heating, ventilating, air conditioning &
refrigeration contractors. ACCA contractors who demonstrate a commitment to
workplace safety are eligible for nomination to the Safety Masters Club.

insurance experience modification factor of less than 1.2; and a copy of the
contractor's OSHA Log 200 or 300, if the company has experienced any type of
accident during the calendar year. The Safety Masters Club is reserved
exclusively for those contractors who show leadership in safety and excellence
in performance.
March 31, 2007
at the North East Ohio CEA/CISP 13th Annual Safety Incentive Program Award
Luncheon, Gundlach received the 2006 Contractor Safety Award for construction
safety excellence as a special trade contractor. The focus of this program,
known as the Safety Incentive Program is to encourage contractors and crafts
persons to be more aware of working safely on the jobsite. Reducing
accidents is considered not only good economic sense but a moral obligation and
the SIP program serves to lower injuries and illnesses while providing a forum
for labor and management to meet on a regular basis and discuss current safety
trends affecting the construction industry. The Building and Construction
Trades, contractors and employer associations have pledged to cooperate in this
effort to reward employees who work safely and this program is designed to
supplement a contractor’s existing safety and health program, not merely
replace it.
At
the 12th Annual Safety Incentive Program Gundlach Sheet Metal was awarded the
"Safety Incentive Award" for exemplary health and safety programs
through the analysis of the number of days away from work case rates, total
recordable case rates and their overall safety and health efforts. The
Safety Incentive Program has been designed to encourage contractors and crafts
persons to be more aware of working safely on the job site. Efforts to
bring safety to the forefront include rewarding tradespersons for working safely
on the job site, recognizing the contractor's efforts of providing a safe work
place through the Contractor Safety Awards Program, publishing monthly safety
bulletins called "SIP-TIP's" and providing a forum for labor and
management to meet on a regular basis and discuss current safety trends
affecting the construction industry. The
Safety Incentive Program (SIP) is co-sponsored by nine trade associations and 30
participating unions serving north central Ohio.

The
Sandusky Area Safety Council, which was organized in 1943 during WWII, has been
operating for over 60 years with the belief that all accidents are
preventable. As a part of the war effort, a group of local business
representatives conceived this organization with the objective to reduce the
hours of work lost due to industrial accidents. The Council was
reorganized in 1951 to remain a continuous advocate for Safety and Health within
the community. The
Safety Council, which works closely with the Ohio Bureau of Workers'
Compensation Division of Safety & Hygiene, brings together
professionals from business, industry, utilities, education, security and public
service organizations that are responsible for accident prevention and the
promotion of Safety and Health within their organizations.
